My first democratic vote

Tonight I got a visit from Chris, one of the workers on the Raia campaign.

I was stopped by a group of people to register to vote about 4 weeks ago, when I was walking down Washington St.

One of them was Chris, who was working on the Raia campaign, and he was a nice, educated guy - much like any typical yuppie Hobokenite you may meet around here.

He informed me of what Raia was standing for, I liked what I heard and had planned on voting for him in the upcoming election.

Tonight, the night before the election, Chris stopped by with an apple pie and a friendly reminder to get out and vote Raia tomorrow. I will be out there and this will be my first official election.

If Roberts gets back in I don't think its the end of the world - he isn't a bad person, just a poor mayor. It seems that the one thing Hoboken needs is to shed years upon years of "old Hudson county politics" and there is a tremendous amount of backscratching going on around this town. The "pay to play" ordinance should have been a big wake up call.

I have my voter card, but i'm still not 100% sure where i'm supposed to go. I hope I will figure that out after I wake up.

Also tomorrow is my first day back to work since my accident. I'm not looking forward to it simply because I am going to hear about 200 people ask me, "What happened to you?" I want to just make a pamphlet or something that I can hand out. Maybe I will just bring the pie in and say it was a terrible baking accident.
