Vine Not? Caprandole Rosso Toscano 2009.

Yeah, I know. Once again I keep focusing on Facebook and keep forgetting about the blog.

I figured that I may as well try to steer back some content on here in the form of "What Am I Drinking". As I got older my tastes have shifted, and I find I just love wine. I found a great boutique store called Le Du's Wines at 600 Washington St. Its easy to walk into Sparrow Wines or Super Buy Rite and wander around and guess at a wine. I really like Le Du because the manager, JT - is a super friendly guy who clearly takes pride in his store & does a ton of research into what wines he selects.

My price range for wine is $15-20. I'm looking for something that I can enjoy with friends, or at home and not feel guilty about opening up an expensive bottle of wine on a Tuesday when i'm eating Paleo meatloaf. JT suggested I try Caprandole Rosso Toscano 2009 which is a Super Tuscan, a blend of Sangiovese and Fogliatonda grapes from 40 year old vines.

I could remark about its fruity bouquet (you're the fruity bouquet!) - but I won't. My suggestion is see if you can track it down and try it. Immediately. At $17 a bottle this is simply the "go to" wine of the summer for me. Beyond fantastic. Deep red, bold and jammy - its the wine that red wine lovers expect. I didn't even drink it with a meal, I was enjoying a cigar with my friend, and toasting to just being alive and enjoying it.

I encourage you to do the same.
